Once registered, companies are required to obtain your permission before contacting you. However, please note that the TPS cannot prevent calls from overseas call centers or research organizations; its focus is on marketing calls.

If you are TPS registered and still receive calls from a company you've already asked to stop, please let us know so we can conduct an investigation and take appropriate action.

We are aware that Caller ID (CLI) spoofing is a growing concern. This technique involves a call appearing as if it’s coming from a legitimate number when it is actually from another source, often linked to identity theft. Ofcom has resources available to help you protect yourself from this issue.
If you suspect a number that called you is spoofed, contact your service provider. They can assist in tracking the actual origin of the call.
